Fine Art Photography, also referred to as also referred to as photographic art or artistic photography, is a genre deeply rooted in the personal vision and expression of the artist behind the camera, transcending traditional photography's focus on mere representation.

A form of Visual Art, Fine Art Photography is primarily created for its aesthetic appeal. It positions creative expression at the forefront, distinguishing itself from other photography genres such as Photorealism and Photojournalism which focus more on the exact replication of subjects. Instead, Fine Art Photographs embody the artist's perspective and communicate what the artist sees.

The collector's market for Fine Art Photography has grown, with high-quality archival prints in limited editions becoming highly sought after, further solidifying photography's place within the fine arts, especially since major institutions like the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) began recognizing photography as an art form in the early 20th century.

What is Fine Art Photography?

Selected Fine Art Photography Wall Art: Seascapes

Our fine art photography collection is perfect for all spaces, whether you're looking for wall art for the living room, bedroom, dining room, or office.

These meditative visions of seascapes capture what we all crave; not the infinite, but time. Shot through long exposures, these soothing images offer us the promise of calm through colour, light and water.

Kimberly Poppe

Meet the Artist

Kimberly Poppe, a fine art photographer based in Amsterdam, brings a unique perspective to the world of photography. Kimberly's photographic artwork embodies her passion for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, capturing moments of everyday delight. She is deeply influenced by the principles of Contemplative Photography, having immersed herself in the Miksang or “good eye” movement, which emphasizes developing the ability to see directly above all else.

In another body of work, her series of abstract seascape photographs, "Eventides," show her profound connection with natural landscapes, particularly the mesmerizing interlude between sea and sky. This collection invites viewers to the threshold of day and night, land and water through abstract seascapes that blur the lines between reality and imagination. Inspired by the color field paintings of the Modernist era and the meditative qualities found in Mark Rothko's works, Kimberly employs long exposures and deliberate camera movement to encapsulate the dynamic essence of the ocean's edge—a place of constant change and boundless beauty.

Kimberly's work has found a home in private and corporate collections globally. Beyond her personal creations, she collaborates extensively within the hospitality and marine sectors as an art & design consultant, curating spaces that reflect a harmonious blend of artistry and function.

FAQs

Are these AI-generated photographs?

No, these fine art photographs are not AI-generated. Each artwork is the result of Kimberly Poppe's artistic vision and technique, using slow shutter speeds and deliberate camera movements. This ensures every print from the "Eventide" series is an authentic and unique expression of the natural world's beauty.

What is the return policy for these artworks?

Each fine art print is custom-made upon order, and we stand by the quality of our work. If your print arrives damaged or you encounter any issues, please contact us within 14 days of receipt for a replacement or refund. We aim for complete customer satisfaction.

Are these artworks suitable for use outside or in a bathroom or kitchen?

Yes, thanks to the ChromaLuxe aluminium panel and thermal sublimation printing process, each print is water-resistant and UV protected. This makes them the perfect outdoor artworks for rain-protected outdoor areas and bathrooms. What beautiful artworks to look at while taking a relaxing bath!

Is it possible to frame these metallic prints?

While each print is ready to hang upon arrival, we understand that some collectors may prefer framed artwork for a distinct presentation. Yes, it is indeed possible. You can take the artwork to your own framer, or discuss your framing requirements with us. We are happy to suggest options or accommodate custom orders to ensure your print is displayed exactly as you envision.

How should I care for my fine art photography print?

To maintain the vividness and integrity of your fine art print, gently clean the surface with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using chemicals, abrasives, or soaking the print. Although the artwork is durable and water-resistant, proper care will ensure its longevity.

Can I order a custom size not listed on the website?

Currently, we offer three size options, but we are open to discussing custom sizes to fit specific spaces. Please reach out to us with your requirements, and we'll explore the possibilities together.
