Kimberly Poppe’s photographic series of abstract seascapes is inspired by the concept of 'eventide'—an ancient term for the end of the day or evening. Each image in this series captures the serene transition of dusk, twilight, or “eventide” in places where tides influence the landscape, such as oceans and salt lakes. The series explores the mesmerizing interplay of the natural elements—earth, water, air, and fire—at these magical times of day.

Inspired by Kimberly's long-standing obsession with Mark Rothko’s paintings and the meditative quality of his work, each photograph is crafted using slow shutter speeds and deliberate camera movements. This technique blends these elemental forces into visual poems that reflect the tranquility and beauty of the natural world.
